Our main activity is track cycling, and we also do mountain biking, closed circuit racing and cyclo cross. We run weekly beginners track sessions open to non-members and training sessions for first-claim club members at the Manchester velodrome (National Cycling Centre) for youth and junior riders from age 10 years up.  All our sessions are run to British Cycling standards and are COVID-19 Safe.

Our current membership includes (Our Club Chair) 2021 Olympic Para-Cycling Champion, double Commonwealth Gold-Medallist and 2018 & 2017 double – World Para-Cycling Track Champion Matt Rotherham In all, at least eight former Eastlands Velo riders are now in the GB Cycling Team – details of ‘Team GB’ can be found on the GB Team page of the BC website.

Everyone starts at one of our New Riders sessions on one of our beginner’s sessions held on Saturday mornings. This is for riders from 10 to 15 years of age and runs on Saturday from 8:00am to 9:00am. It costs £6 to ride, and this includes bike and helmet hire. Places are limited and must be booked and paid for in advance. You do not need to be a club member to ride this session.

Once riders have learned basic track cycling skills the next step is our Saturday morning intermediate session. This runs from 9:00am to 12:00am, and riders learn more skills and begin track racing. The fee is £15.50 (£13.50 for Manchester residents) bike hire included. Before you come to this session, you must have completed at least one New Rider session with a satisfactory assessment by a club coach
